Condor Elite Sector Sling Pack – Personal Review

Condor Elite Sector Sling Pack Bag

Condor Outdoor is a company that has specialized in tactical outdoor gear since the 1980s, and are often known for making some great budget options out perform higher priced alternatives.

The Condor Elite Sector Sling Pack is a great solution for executive protection/close protection agents, security folks, undercover personnel, and civilians alike.

It is for anyone that need to keep a small firearm readily accessible while remaining discreet.

Keep reading to learn more about what it’s like owning and using the Condor Elite Sector Sling Pack, as well as some of the most commonly asked questions about this product by Condor Outdoor.

Personal Experience

I’ve been carrying and using this pack for a while now as part of the research for our article on Concealed Carry Sling Bags.

I’ve tried a lot of applications with this sling pack, again, for research purposes.

Although I’ve been doing a lot of testing, I have not tested this pack with armor so I’m not going to speak on that particular application from a personal standpoint.

Weapon Storage

It obviously holds pretty much any make and model of handgun you want to carry. These are not an issue at all and the hardest choice you will have to make is holster integration.

Surprisingly, it can also house a few weapons with a bit more function and/or capability.

As you can see here, I’m able to fit a KelTec Sub 2000 which was a bit shocking to me.

They may not be the fastest to deploy, but they do carry in a very discreet manner.

Keep in mind, this is not a “quick draw” pack, so handgun deployment isn’t the fastest in the world either.

Laptop Storage

I tested laptop storage with both a 13″ laptop and a 15″ laptop. Both of these options fit with ease.

The bottom of the bag does have some padding, but given the fact the bag will not stand up on it’s own I only see it offering protection if dropped.

Organization

Adventure Medical Kits Ultralight Watertight .5

The various pockets allow for a bit of organization, but don’t expect it to come off the showroom floor with a compartment, slot, sleeve, or pouch for every knick knack you plan on carrying.

It does come with a semi-rigid insert that has 3 strips of PALS webbing which you could use to attach some additional organizational add-ons.

To me, it isn’t really necessary and adds extra weight I would rather not deal with.

In addition, there is a small pouch on the upper portion of the sling.

This offers no real value to me. It is slightly large enough to carry a few tubes of lip balm or maybe one small canister of Sabre Red Pepper Spray.

Carryability

Is carryability even a word? Maybe not, but let’s go with it.

I find this bag carries pretty well unless it’s completely overloaded. However, that’s the case with pretty much any bag or pack.

Traditionally, I’ve always carried backpack style bags but sling bags are slowly growing on me.

I’ve never been a big fan of the “waist-belt” feature that most manufacturers include on sling bags.

To me, they always seem to get in the way for my intended purpose.

As such, I removed this feature from this Condor Sling Pack and I like the clean look and function much better now.

Discreetness

This bag is discreet…there, I said it.

All joking aside, it’s pretty mundane, which is a good thing.

It does have a couple rows of PALS webbing, which I could personally do without, but it’s not enough to make much of a difference.

As mentioned above, there is a small built-in pouch on the upper part of the sling that doesn’t offer a lot of functionality.

Comfort

Again, comfort is a very subjective topic as body types, weather, loadout, etc., can greatly influence how comfortable something is.

With an average load, I found this bag to be comfortable.

Maybe even slightly more comfortable than a traditional backpack.

It should be noted, we are currently averaging high temps of 105-110, so this comfort is based on the fact I’m only dealing with one strap adding extra heat to my back and not two.

Key Features

  • Military-grade Cordura manufacturing
  • Removable MOLLE panel for customizability
  • Conceal carry pouch for sidearms
  • 14” shoulder drop strap

While the Elite Sector Sling Pack was designed to be the answer for discreet professionals, it is available to the public and can be used for more than just its advertised purpose.

The Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment panel is removable in case you need the extra space but further improves the versatility of the sling pack to meet your unique needs.

A soft armor panel can provide some protection at a relatively inexpensive price point.

500-denier Cordura fabric, pull cords made of para-cord, and YKK zippers provide durability and strength for every inch of space that the sling pack can carry.

This doesn’t mean that Condor Outdoor has ignored the form for the function though – a panel on the back allows air to flow freely between the person wearing the sling pack and the pack itself.

A Swivi-Lockster buckle allows users to attach the sling pack to a waist strap and shift how the weight of the pack and its contents are distributed.

With an average rating of 4.3 out of 5.0 on Amazon, a single bag from the Condor store will cost you around $100 before shipping and handling.

If you want to order from Condor Outdoor directly, you will only be able to purchase the sling packs in larger quantities than a single bag.

This means that resellers such as Amazon are really your only way to purchase these bags as an individual.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Kind Of Things Fit In The Condor Elite Sector Sling Pack Bag?

The sling pack has three compartments for easy organization with the main pouch being used to discreetly hold small firearms like pistols.

The 19” x 14” x 4.5” size of the main pouch makes it possible to hold slightly larger firearm types in a pinch but you may sacrifice some of the discreet looks of the bag.

Many people that purchase this bag for travel purposes enjoy that they can easily carry essential items like passports, cell phones, and wallets.

Reading and sunglasses are common for some users.

For students, smaller laptops and tablets fit well which makes the sling bag an excellent option for school.

Can You Wear The Sling Pack On Either Shoulder?

Unfortunately, there is only one version of this sling pack and it is only meant to be carried over the left shoulder.

While you might be able to wear the bag over your right shoulder, the bag won’t function as intended with access to the concealed carry pouch being reduced significantly.

On a more positive note, Condor Outdoor does make another sling pack for those who want to wear the bag on either shoulder as needed.

Look for the Condor 140 Ambidextrous Sling Bag if you are still looking for a quality product.

Is The Soft Armor Panel Included With The Sling Pack?

No. Although a soft armor or ballistics panel is marketed as being an easy fit into the sling pack, one is not included with the purchase of the Condor Elite Sector Sling Pack Bag.

What Colors Does the Condor Elite Sector Sling Pack Come In?

The sling pack only comes in one of two colors: slate (a medium gray color), or black. The one I purchased is the gray.

These colors help to give the bag a low profile and they often match with many outfits but this isn’t the primary aim of the pack.

Does The Condor Elite Sector Sling Pack Come With A Warranty?

Yes, Condor Outdoor has a one-year guarantee on their sling packs and other merchandise from the date of purchase.

This warranty does not cover the wear and tear that comes with regular and proper use of the product – it only protects the owner from defects during the production phase of the sling pack.

If you need to make a return because of the warranty or otherwise, make sure to contact the independent retailer or reseller that sold you the product directly.

Where Does Condor Outdoor Ship To?

If you are purchasing large quantities directly from Condor Outdoor, they will ship anywhere within the territories of the United States of America.

International orders will have to send a message directly to Condor Outdoor to inquire about whether or not they can ship to an international location based on trade regulations.

Conclusion

The Condor Elite Sling Pack is a versatile part of the Elite line of Condor Outdoor products.

The focal point of the bag is the concealed carry compartment which emphasizes how easy and comfortable it can be to carry a concealed firearm for any situation that may arise when you are out and about.

The bag can also be used for other purposes like travel or school all for an affordable price.
