What do They Offer?

VERTX Cutback Technical Pant

The VERTX Cutback Technical Pants are jam-packed with excellent features that you won’t find in any ordinary pair of pants. Let’s take a look at each one of them.

Deep Pockets for Gear

VERTX Cutback Technical Pant

Most pairs of pants typically have four pockets (including a small “coin” pocket, so perhaps five). You know what your carry needs are and having reliable access is usually paramount.

More is not always better, but in this case, I found most of the pockets VERTX offers with these pants to be useful.

These pockets include pass-through slots for things like a comms lead. And, you get wallet traps to ensure that your wallet or passport will be safe while on the move.

Athletic Cut Design

When it comes to design, an athletic cut is the way to go. That’s because it’s the kind of design that will allow you to move freely without having to deal with limited movement.

These have a full-gusseted crotch and pleated knees that will allow more freedom to move. If you regularly find yourself in more “active” environments, a tailored design such as this really adds a level of comfort and mobility that far exceeds regular designs.

Strategically Placed YKK Zippers and Rivets

Regular pants can rip at the most critical stress points. But, with strategically placed rivets and YKK zippers, you get nothing but the best in terms of quality and reinforcement where you need it most.

VaperCore Technology Fabric

The fabric is a blend of cotton, polyester, and T400 polyester blend twill. It has VaperCore technology, which will help keep you cool on those hot days and will dry super fast when it gets wet. Don’t let wetness and the heat slow you down.

I’ve used these pants a lot in hot and humid environments. While all pants and less than ideal in harsh conditions, these performed really well in regards to staying cool longer and drying out faster once they become wet.

Available in Multiple Colors

If you need to blend in with the crowd or various environments life throws at you, you need to choose colors that will make it easy. There are four different colors to choose from: desert tan, ranger green, shock cord, and spine grey.

I currently own Desert Tan and Shock Cord, and I would have to say that out of the two, Shock Cord is my favorite. Desert Tan seems to be just a hair light in comparison. However, its lighter color does offer a slight advantage in extreme heat.

Fit

I purchased a 33×34 in each of the colors I have in this style. I found that the pair in Shock Cord fit a little looser than the Desert Tan pair, which are a hair snug.

I’m not sure if this is normal between the colors or what, but that’s my experience in this area.

I also found this style to have a slightly longer-fitting inseam than what I expected for 34’s, which I actually kind of like.

Pros and Cons

Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of these pants:

Pros

Excellent Quality

You want pants that won’t wear and tear quickly and easily. I’ve used these pants and stress-tested them in numerous conditions from long range days, to working outdoors, to climbing on roofs in the mid-summer Texas heat. They pass with flying colors.

Many Useful Pockets

With a total of 14 pockets, you’ll have plenty of options to overload yourself with your gear. They are plenty of pockets that are deep enough and perfectly designed for almost any essential tool you can find.

If you conceal carry, have first aid tools, or need to slip out of the area with a wallet and a passport, you can do exactly that with these pants.

Keeps you Cool in Warm, Humid Conditions

You may live in an area where the summers are hot and humid. Perfect day to wear shorts, right? That’s not always possible. In such conditions, these pants will keep you cool and you won’t be sweating like crazy compared to regular pants. Since they are lightweight, you won’t feel like you are overheating and they dry super fast.

Concealed Carry Friendly

If you conceal carry, you probably won’t need to go up a pant size in order to keep your pistol covered properly. Especially if you are using an IWB holster.

Affordable

At the price these are going for, this pair of tactical pants are a good buy. They’re not cheap in quality either. You get great quality compared to other similar pants that may be $20 or more in price. Quality matters, especially with a pair of pants like this. We cannot stress that enough.

Cons

The sizing may be off

One of the chief complaints is that the size may not be consistent between sizes. Despite great quality, I found the sizing to be off a little with this style, which I mentioned above.

Are These Pants Worth Buying?

If you are looking for an excellent pair of lightweight technical pants that will serve you well in hot environments, the VERTX Cutback Technical Pants are definitely worth buying. They are awesome when it comes to performing in hot weather.

If you want excellent mobility, a lot of storage space, and the ability to stay cool even on warm, humid days, these pants are worth a try.

Plus, if you get a little wet these pants get dry fairly quickly, which is a great benefit when the humidity cranks up.

Overall, these are a pair of technical pants you don’t want to pass up.
